PH balanced vs PH neutral
Is it the same, marketing blah blah blah or are they really mean 2 different thing?

Re: PH balanced vs PH neutral
I guess there is no such thing as ph neutral soap because that would mean they have the same cleaning ability than water?
That is what I think when I read ph neutral, to me ph balanced is something between 6-8, dont know

IMO it would be nearly impossible to maintain ph neutral once you add water to a perfectly ph neutral car soap [if it actually is to begin with]
Ph balanced is an easier way for them to label a product that they did their best to make as close to ph neutral as possible. As far as car soap having much more cleaning ability than just water? Well in actuality it probably helps alot less than most would think.. Remember that typical car soaps aren’t detergents. Their #1 purpose is to provide lubricity.

That’s why you’ll typically see little to no results when using a foam cannon followed by a rinse on a dirty vehicle...

Re: PH balanced vs PH neutral
I thought the job of the foam cannon is yes to provide lubricity but also loosen the dirt, no necessarily take it off the panel but make it less stubborn so it is even easier clean it w/ the mitt

Re: PH balanced vs PH neutral
I don’t have a foam cannon but I religiously use a foam gun and yes, that is the reason why I use it. The idea of dislodging and flushing. The key for me is to constantly run the foam gun over the paint to form a barrier of lubricity while I whisk with a mitt.
I admit I don’t let the vehicles I wash get too dirty in between washes otherwise this wash process would take very long. Often for me, if the vehicle isn’t too dirty I can get away with just foaming up the car and rinsing. This removes all the dirt for me (because the vehicle is LSPed) and I’m ready to dry.

I’d say a freshly foamed vehicle is equal to grabbing a fresh mitt from your wash bucket and touching it on the paint.. Having both foamed the vehicle with a foam cannon and also a soapy bucket with mitts would provide maximum lubricity. Would it provide maximum cleaning ability? I’d like to think so, but alot of people argue that it’s the lubricity that matters most.
I happen to love suds, so for me the more the better.
Either ways, agitation is required. As Bill D mentioned, lsp is a big factor.

Re: PH balanced vs PH neutral
Nice discussion guys...
Normally I rinse my car, then foam it and let it dwell for about 5-7 mins, then rinse and finally finish the foam together with a contact wash, so far that gives me peace of mind but dont know if it is overkill

No that’s not overkill. To guard against swirls, constantly foam over the paint while whisking with a mitt. Using multiple mitts is highly recommended as well.
