What is this on my paint?

I haven't been in the auto detailing scene in several years, just occasional waxing/washing the car 6-7 times a year and a polish every other year. I've got two paint problems that I have no clue about.

    1. Sticky mess low on driver's door. Does not wash off, at least not easily, and comes off black with significant agitation. Quite sticky and large. Would normally hit it with TRIX but it's unlike anything I've ever seen and came off black.

    2. Hard, raised spots on hood. About 6 or 7. Do not come off with TRIX. I did use TRIX several times and agitated them, and a few lost their "centers" but didn't go away. Were not iron.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to what these are and how I can treat them?

I'm going to guess tar on the low panels and tree sap on the horizontal panels.

Did you try putting some TRIX on a microfiber towel, like just a small area like 1" squared and then pressing and holding against a single spot for like 45 seconds and then rubbing?

The idea being to allow the TRIX to penetrate.

Thanks Mike. You're likely spot on. The tar came off like a breeze. The sap still remains difficult to remove as they've likely been there a while but your tip helped to further reduce the sight of some. Will keep working on it.
