Restore the interior trim after removed the scratches

    Hi all,

I need some help with the interior trim to see how I can improve it to make it less to be seen on these marks. I have been working on my car this afternoon as I have used wet and dry sandpaper 400 grit and then I used 800 grit to rubbed on the area where the scratches was so I have removed most of the scratches so it looks good.

Here is what it was before:

    After:

I have been used the plastic cleaner called PlastX to cleaned on the plastic to removed the dirt then I have applied meguiars ultimate black plastic restorer to restore the plastic trim back to the original color. The results have been amazing but there are still some work that I need to work on it for best results.

As you can see there are some marks on it where it can been seen. Do you know how I can improve it to make it less noticeable?

What do I need to use to make it look better?

    Thanks in advance.

You did a pretty good job. Try a second coat. If your ocd about it, start sanding again and use a more permanent dye (Solution Finish).

Thank you. I did it very carefully when I rubbed with 400 grit and 800 grit sandpapers as I took my own time so this is how I did a good job.

There is something like white stuff on the trim which it look like the trim got faded or if it is dirt when I rubbed it so do you know what is that white stuff on the trim?

What grit do I need to sanding again?

What second coat do I need to apply?

And what do you mean by if i my ocd about it?

What grit do I need to sanding again? Only if you have too (1000)

What second coat do I need to apply? Use what you used before.

Carefully heat the trim piece with a hair dryer or heat gun until it gets shiny. Do not touch the piece as you will leave finger prints. Let it cool back down to normal temperature. Then treat it with your interior trim dressing of choice.

If I get solution finish, will it come to the same color as the trim?
