How to determine material?
Does anyone have a good way to know what material is used on vehicle interior? I am unsure how to know if I should be using leather cleaner or just a general interior cleaner. I have always been guessing but I'd like to see if anyone has a suggestion.
The 2 primary vehicles are
2004 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT (cloth seats)
2012 Dodge Durango Citadel
I also will be detailing my 1972 Chevelle
I have been happy with the chemical guys cleaning products but for example the center arm rest in the dodge ram could be vinyl or leather (same with steering wheel) and I'm not sure which product to use.
Thanks

You can usually tell by the feel of the material. You can also check the original sticker of the vehicle. It will tell you what the vehicle was originally equipped with. Either way, most leather cleaners work well on vinyl. Read the label first to make sure.

Just about all leather seats have a plastic coating on them. Pretty much, most cleaners will work fine
