Removing Scratches under door handles
I have some moderate fingernail scratches in the recess under the door handles.
Was thinking of using Meguiars Ultimate Compound.
Do I need to buy the expensive foam finger pockets or can a just a MF cloth?
Are finger pockets useful for anything else?
Thanks for any advice.

I would start with something way less aggressive than a compound.
Foam or MF, you can burn right through the clear coat in a hot minute using too much pressure by hand (fingers) in one area.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

•Use Meguiar’s ScratchX with
a foam applicator pad. [Note: it
may take more than one application.]
*Be sure to always follow up
with your choice of an LSP.

Re: Removing Scratches under door handles
Once you reach some degree of success removing the scratches, I would consider putting some PPF in the door cups to prevent more scratches. I have it on my door cups and never have to worry.
Treat it like it's the only one in the world.

Beat me to the punch ... Scratch X is good stuff !
Meguiar's SCRATCH X 2.0 Fine Scratch & Swirl Remover is a rubbing compound that can be applied by hand. Meguiars ScratchX polishes away fine paint

I just use a MF and usually a polish will do it

You can use a regular yellow foam applicator. You may only need a polish but it is going to depend on how deep those scratches are. You can also use a microfiber towel.

Sure can.
I use the below yellow polyfoam applicator
pads for many detailing tasks, including the
removal of scratches under door handles.
6 Pack Pinnacle Foam Wax Applicators
For an even better value/buy, I go this route:

Re: Removing Scratches under door handles
Thanks for the great help!
I play guitar so my fingernails are a little long.
Didn't realize they were causing this damage.
Will have to be more careful when opening the doors.
