Fortador Vs Dupray Steam Cleaner
Hi
Have any of you got experience using a Fortador Volt versus a Dupray Steel Box?
first off it’s for cleaning and the use on the cars we own personally and anything else is a plus.
One problem with the Fortador Volt for example is it’s size,
about 100-130 lbs and imagine pulling that up a flight of stairs although with two people and a couple of times a year it may not be too bad
i tried a Mc Cullough MC1385 and it just doesn’t have the power or build quality and you end up scrubbing like crazy and the whole point of a good steam washer is to allow the machine do the rough work
I want build quality, longevity, and power or a good result so I can use it on home appliances, BBQ grills, office cleaning, auto etc
also that getting parts in future isn’t a nightmare to the point you need a whole new unit
I would be getting a 220volt not 110v
suggestions?

Re: Fortador Vs Dupray Steam Cleaner
I currently have the Fortador Pro Plus, Vapor Rino 220v, Euro-Steam ES2100 and McCulloch. The Fortador blows all the others away. But this is because it is a diesel powered machine and has no loss of pressure. The Vapor Rino is a great machine as well. I used the Rino for a while before upgrading to the Fortador. If you plan on doing a lot of cleaning and you have access to a 220v outlet it is a good choice. The ES2100 and VX5000 are both great machines and are more than capable of cleaning whatever you need. Plus has the added benefit of running on a 110v outlet. The other two I mentioned has more power and can do the job faster.

This is great thanks so much for the feedback!
The only issue with the Fortador Diesel is you obviously can’t take it into the house or up the stairs etc
So it’s really for outdoor use.
But I wonder if the volt, has the same performance output as the diesel?
Any reliability issues from the Fortador? A lot of people with commercial steamers seem to have issues after just several months or a years use

The diesel is not bad. I use mine in my garage and you can’t smell any fumes. Plus the hose is 30ft and you can get a 30ft extension hoses.
No electric steamer is going to have the same performance output as diesel. Electric boiler can’t keep up with a diesel boiler. You are always going to have some loss of pressure with electric.
I haven’t had any problems. I was on the fence for a while about buying one after reading some negative reviews. But now they have it setup where you can order any part and rebuild it.
I have a Vapor Rino 220v to get rid of if you are looking for something like that

Is ice an issue or freezing?
For example, winter time and the diesel machine is outside and your running the hose from
Outside into the building to steam clean inside?

I wouldn’t worry about it while it’s running or while you are using. But I wouldn’t leave it or store it outside in the winter for any period of time.
