    a 3" or 2" backing plate?

I have been contemplating purchasing a small backing plate, mating to a drill, to get those small spaces.
I see there is the BOSS™ 2" Backing plate and the 3 Inch Dual Action Flexible Backing Plate.
Will the 3" DA work with the drill adapter and if not then my question is mute.

If you're just going to use the DA backing plates in a drill, you could just insert the 5/16" threaded stud into the jaws of the drill, tighten down and go for it.

This will cream-out the threads BUT if all you're going to do is use it in a drill what would it matter?

I think there's a drill adapter too, check out the Griot's page on the AG store

Which is more versatile, 3" or 2" backing plate - Boss 2" or the DA 3" backing plate?
