Tenkor Apex Zero -G Water hose. (Or other choices)

100' Any reviews or users of this hose? My old 100' is about ready to give up the ghost. I can get this locally at Lowes.



Or open to a good 100' hose from other manufactures. How is the Flexzilla?

I've never tried that hose before. I purchased two 50ft. GoodYear Black hoses about 12 years ago and they still work great. They're Heavy-Duty Rubber and they don't kink either.

I have one of these that I use for an add-on temp hose for some of my lawn care. It works for that since I use it once a month and it is lighter and easier to carry and can coil up and store in a small box.


From my use I don't think these would be great long term for regular use and for washing cars. I don't think they would be durable long term but I may be wrong.



I bought a Yardworks 5/8" x 100' Kink-Resistant Vinyl Garden Hose from Menards for $40. It is a little stiff when cold but it is going to be much more durable based on my use. And that Zero -G is $50-$60 for the same 100'.

You can get the Yardworks® 5/8" x 100' Heavy-Duty Vinyl Garden Hose for $30 and is a little less stiff.

I've had a Zero-G for over 5 years as my backyard hose the wife uses to water all her plants and flowers. She loves it since it's so lightweight and it's been faultless so far. About the only possible issue I could see would be wear if you're constantly dragging over rough concrete.

I've had a 25Ft Zero G that I use for the Pressure Washer Connection for ~3 Years now - no issues - and it's setup in the winter around the shrubs and rock wall - so it gets caught up every once in while.

I bought it because it's light weight and easy to carry around with the PW....

They are cheap enough it's worth a try.

Bobby: Do yours leave black marks on things that they touch?

The reason I ask is, I had the GY hose years ago (in a work environment). It was as tough as one of their tires IMO. Awesome hose.

Only drawback was that it left those black marks on anything it came into contact with.

That said, dragging it around the driveway and having it only come into contact with the tires of the car would be no biggie.

I had the 50’ version which I really liked.

Pros:
-light weight
-was kink “resistant”
-small volume, easy to store, I put mine in a 5gallon bucket

Cons:
-weak aluminum fittings, mine bent at the fittings, and started leaking. in fairness I wasn’t easy on the hose.
-reduced diameter reduces flow rate of water
-durability due to fittings

If you expect this hose to last 5-10 years look elsewhere.
I replaced mine with a 50’ Gilmour heavy duty hose. This Gilmour will last 10 years easily.

Funny thing is, I wished I would have bought another 50’ Tenkor
I miss the lightweight and easy storage. If you are just using the Tenkor for car washing I say it’s good.
If you want an all purpose hose and don’t want to replace it in 1-3 years. Go with a traditional hose.

BTW, super time saving tip that I don’t see mentioned often.

When filling buckets with a hose, try using a two way splitter at your spigot. Use a second cheap leader hose to fill buckets. Leave the leader hose open with no sprayer. My city water pressure can fill a bucket in half the time unrestricted without a sprayer.

At work we must have a fire hydrant feeding our spigots I can fill a 5 gallon bucket in 15 seconds with a traditional diameter hose unrestricted. It’s so much faster to fill I actually unscrew the sprayer when filling buckets.

I have a 50' and 100' Zero-G going on 3 years now, I have no complaints. They have held up very well to this point.
