    Lightbulb Stainless Steel Refridgerator

We just purchased a new Stainless Steel Refrigerator. I am wondering if any one has used or tried an automotive polish or sealer to lesson the fingerprints.
Should I try a paste wax or just something like Turtle wax seal and shine?
I would appreciate your thoughts or ideas.

I just used Optimum Hyper Seal on mine. Looks great, but still too soon to tell how it helps. I doubt it will do much to prevent fingerprints, but I bet it makes wiping them off easier.

This is what I use to clean and protect my stainless steel fridge...

    Griot's Garage Foaming Metal Detailer

    ...works quite nicely.

A product recommendation depends a lot on the
type of finish the SS fridge has (brushed, smooth,
    matte, shiny, Black, etc.).

The wrong type of product can wreak havoc on
certain finish styles. (Ex: an abrasive product can
create unwanted shiny surfaces on brushed SS.)

What does the “Use and Care” manual say
to use? (Let me know, so I can proceed in
    a more informed manner.) TIA.

    Re: Stainless Steel Refridgerator

When the wife and I got our SS 'fridge a couple of years ago, it came with the manufacturer's "Stainless Care" product. Underwhelming to say the least.

The consistency reminded me of Optimum Metal Polish. So I tried that, and it worked much better. But still, it's very difficult to keep the SS fridge surface clean of fingerprints, smudges, and in my case dog nose prints without a bi-weekly application. (IMO)
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

The instructions read: wax the outside in order to create better protection. Make sure you use a product specifically design to be used for electro-domestic products (car was is acceptable). Use a clean, soft rag, and perform this task twice a year.

Especially since the "stainless steel" commonly used on many appliances today is of lesser quality, often lacking in any (or enough) nickel content. Nickel is important because it aids both abrasion and corrosion resistance, and with less (or none) of it in the "stainless steel" material of these appliances, surface "rusting" is becoming a common occurance. Most of this "rusting" is due to "pitting" which has been caused by surface abrasion. Point being, be careful what you use on these "stainless steel" appliance surfaces. [Note: this "stainless steel" still has chromium content to aid with corrosion resistance, but nickel takes it to another level. Quality stainless steel has both, eg. 18/10 stainless which has 18% chromium, 10% nickel).

As such, I'd recommend using either 3M Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish or Magic (brand) Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish. Both are very effective cleaners, help cut down on fingerprinting, and even help hide minor blemishes. While they require regular application and thus are not a "one and done" solution, they are safe for the material, both chemically and mechanically (ie. will not abrade).

    •In that case:
-One, or more, of the below products
offered here at AGO should suffice.
    -Your choice.

    Note:
    Any type of Cleaner-Wax; Cleaner-Sealant;
    Cleaner-Hybrid (Wax/Sealant); should not
be used on this particular fridge.

    •How much $$$ am I willing to

    •Then again:
    -Is synthetic “a priori” knowledge
    even possible?
