This has merit and a good idea, although I have to admit I did not do it with mine as I was just too dang excited to try it out. As mentioned earlier, I just completed doing our 35" 5th wheel - a lot of use over a few days and working perfectly.

It's only something to do if the polisher stops working all of a sudden. It's something a lot of us found out many years ago and solves most of the issues instead of shipping it back under warranty.
BTW be glad you have that lifetime warranty so you never need to worry about anything.

Am I the only one wondering how a new electric cord is going to fix the machine?
Does your cord not stay in right now? I was confused by your post

Initially mine was difficult getting it to snap into place. It eventually worked itself in. When it started to fail, it seemed to happen as I looped the cord over my should and placed the pad against the car. This put some upward tension on the cord so I thought it must be the cord. However I could get it going and flex the connection in any direction and it wouldn’t stop. Eventually it was hit or miss if it was going to start or stop regardless of tension on the cord. The removable cord is cool and smart for storage but....

It is possible they got a batch of bad cords. This happens very frequently in all ranges of manufacturing and many kinds of parts.
Either way, Griot's will make it right.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

I wonder if they'll do a recall? Either way seems like a small issue when your talking about a LIFETIME warranty

On Jimbo`s detailing video / podcast he interviewed Nick from Grits an @ 1:35 mark he said Griots is working on a second version with upgrades on fan and gears.
FYI this is not Griots bashing customer service is great .
