I agree on the 476 or FK 1000 as second choice. Those of us that still use 476 or fk 1000 use it because it still works well. Sometimes we just need something to protect the paint without spending the time to prep for a coating.

Let alone go through all the fuss of actually applying it and then possibly messing some of them up.

Sorry, Collinite. And sorry to Pinnacle, Wolfgang, Meg's or any other wax or sealant. You have been passed by, and anyone that uses you need not reply here lest be given a lesson by those who "know better than you" what you choose to use on your own car.
I just applied three coats of Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Wax to my car this weekend, should I've applied 15 so I could've used the whole bottle...and poured out the spray version in storm sewer and then tossed two bottles of Crystal Mist down the drain just so I could sit in my recliner and eat ice cream and watch football and listen to my wife gripe about doing nothing? cool So its getting into the colder weather now, I need to throw on some protection... suggestions?. Back to watching dallas get their @ss handed to them (I hope)!

    LOL Jay.

Funny post, but I really am not dismissing any coating products.

My point is to convey to some forum members that it IS ok to use a traditional wax/sealant.

Some of us don't want or need a coating.

And when a forum member chooses and applies a product, they don't need to be second-guessed.

That would be me. Coatings continue to not appeal to me.

I have a neighbor who uses a mechanical push rotary mower to mow his grass.

I have never felt the need to tell him that gas mowers are easier/quicker.

I am certain that he knows that. To each his own....

Ah, I just had to change the oil in mine yesterday. If I had a push rotary one, I wouldn’t have to worry about it. Your neighbor sounds like a wise person!

Me too..I may experiment on my wheels though but not paint, I really enjoy tinkering with trying new products and techniques on the weekends.

So its getting into the colder weather now, I need to throw on some protection... suggestions?

Wax? What is wax? Like candle wax?

I choose to coat my car in honey, let it dry to a candy consistency and then sand with 600 grit.....

I kid but I haven’t waxed a car in 10 years. Both products are valid. And everyone should use what they like w/o being chastised by others. Paul you do you. Wax on wax offSo its getting into the colder weather now, I need to throw on some protection... suggestions?

Kaban didn’t say it in a positive way the OP did ask for opinions.

Give it a good wash, and a couple of coats of 476.

Do NOT over-apply it, and DO NOT let it dry/haze over 2-3 minutes.

Thank me later for that advice. Lol
I'll second this motion... DO NOT LET IT HAZE unless you hate your shoulders and forearms.
