Used Sonax Cutmax for the first time

Holy smokes this stuff is good. This was a seriously jacked Infiniti... like washed aggressively with a brush for 5 years. We used LC microfiber cutting pads with Cutmax, and it absolutely killed the swirls. Zero dust as well. Very impressive product.

You were able to get those results in one step? How hard is Infiniti paint?

How aggressive is Cut Max compared to other compounds you've used?

The Sonax CutMax Cutting Compound is a great product. I would follow up with the Sonax EX 04-06 for a perfect finish.

    SONAX EX 04-06 250 ml.

Used Sonax Cutmax for the first time

One step yes. With a cutting microfiber pad. Granted, white car, but I didn’t see any reason to polish beyond this. It is a buddy’s car who isn’t a car guy, and had been known to abuse his paint, so we weren’t going for perfection.

I had tried BOSS FCC with a different microfiber pad before this, and wasn’t making much progress. This makes me think the paint is pretty hard. That said, I usually use foam, so I don’t think I used enough compound for microfiber... didn’t prime properly. I would say FCC is the most aggressive product I have used prior to this, and the CutMax was much more effective.

Either way, a friend and I were both totally blown away at the combo... the CutMax with LC cutting MF pad. These...

CutMax is a really really good compound. I usually do follow up with a polish as this can leave a bit of a haze sometimes. Glad it worked well for you!!

Cut Max is a great compound. On certain paints it does finish out well enough to not need a polish.

Re: Used Sonax Cutmax for the first time

It's an awesome compound the Sonax Cutmax. Combo it with a B&S Uro-Fiber 50/50 and whent after some deeper defects on my Kia cee'd SW with a silver metallic paint. And worked great and under the Scangrip Sunmatch light it didn't show any micro marring. But with the weaker and higher Kalvin from the Sonax Inspection Pen Light it showed some minor micro marring. So finishing pad and Sonax Perfect Finish cleared it up great. Very impresive though how the Cutmax is finishing but most it's cutting ability from it.

Re: Used Sonax Cutmax for the first time

Yeah I’m sure there is some marring, but given white paint and the owner’s expectations, we stopped there. Now you guys are making me want to hit it with some polish next time. Used Sonax Cutmax for the first time

But it’s the cutting that’s really impressive. This stuff just works!
