Re: Menzerna Heavy Cut Compound 400 Question

    Thanks for that input!!

I actually have the old FG400, and was using that...but have a new bottle sitting waiting to open up. I may just use that since as you put it, is an updated formula!

Had no idea. Just thought it was a label change. Thanks again for all your input.

Test the new bottle of HC400 and see if it's behavior is different. You may still have the latest version with the fg400. But that's as mentioned is a little hard to know as they just do slight difference to the formula when they find a better one. And still try to avoid polishing in high humidity as it mostly messes with the polishes. I had this happens to me just today. The high humidity came in about during 5 minutes from being sunny conditions. To haveing signs of dew on the paint. With a B&S Uro-Fiber 50/50 pad and Scholl S20 Black SS on the 21mm longthrow polisher it started to dust very much on the 3 pass. This usually don't dust at all for me. The weather conditions has been a PITA for me when trying to do some polishing lately LOL.

You will find out a way to get it done. Remember that your combo can be to aggressive to one step polish the paint. All paints behave differently sadly. That's why it's so important to do the different test spots. And when you are near the results that you have gotten maybe just a change in armspeed and the amount of passes and even the pressure can make so you get there. But if you have trouble with the finishing and you get micro marring from it. It's either that you overwork it or it's just a to aggressive pad and or compound/polish.
