Average Foam Pad Life

Newbie question here... on average how many jobs or times of use will you get out of a quality 5.5" foam polishing pad assuming you're cleaning it as best you can from one job to the next? Would this be any different for a quality foam wax pad? How about for a foam cutting/compounding pad? Thank you!

That's a hard question to answer as there are a number of variables that have a huge effect.

I have pads in Autogeek's garage that are 2, 3 maybe 4 and even 5 years old.


I would say this though, if you use MORE pads when buffing out a car, than just a few pads, the pads will last longer overall. This is primarily true for any pads you use to do paint correction, be that with compounds, polishes or AIOs.
