Topping solution finish / Delux still a good choice

I read here a while back that Carpro Delux was one of the better and longer lasting toppers for solution finish. Is that still the case or is there something better now? Also, how long should I wait to apply the topper?

I still haven’t found nothing better. Personally if you can wait two day, I find that ideal. If not just buff off any excess solution finish as good as possible and it will still be fine.

The problem with that combo, is that when Dlux starts to wear off, it's very difficult to remove. If you re-apply over the uneven Dlux you will get a somewhat splotchy/uneven finish.

I find using Solution Finish, waiting a couple days for it to cure and then applying Wolfgang which is easier to remove with an APC and then reapply when needed, gives a much better finish. On the downside of using Wolfgang is that Dlux will last twice as long.

I would agree with this in topping with Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant being a very good option. I have since gone back to this on over SF when restoring trim. Also DLUX seems to spot more compared to WETS.

I have the black fire exterior sealant. How would that compare to the WETS as a topper.

Try it..Black Fire makes some fine products. The key is to let Solution Finish dry completely.

Sounds like a plan. If it doesn’t hold up, I will do it again and top with Dlux.
