    Scratches in plastic

Is it possible to remove these plastic scratches? This is interior trim in my Acura. I’m afraid if I use a plastic cleaner it will make things worse.

Those scratches look like they are too deep to polish out, I would also assume that the "paint" on that plastic is so thin you shouldnt use anything heavy at all. You can try some really light polish (Meguiars Ultimate Polish) by hand on a Microfiber towel but I would do it in the most inconspicuous area I could find to make sure it doesnt rub off that "paint". Minimal pressure. I personally think you are not going to have great luck with scratch removal on that. If you cant live with it you may either need to replace or repaint.

Replacement of the offending panels may be the best choice.

Did you buy this car new or used?

sorry man, as others have said, you're SOL. And yeah an agressive clean might make it worse. I still would do a light clean with something like mckee's fast interior detailer.

Try a fine polish, you've got nothing to lose.

Those parts are likely molded-in-color, so it will be next to impossible to fix them. The scratches are showing up "lighter" in color as those areas now reflect light differently than the undamaged surfaces.

    Re: Scratches in plastic

Thanks everyone. Car is used, I purchased a couple weeks ago. I did try some Ultimate Polish but no change, no damage either to the plastic. I was thinking about trying Megs cleaner wax but might be too aggressive. I can live with it, not extremely noticeable.
