Suggested sealant for highly polished billet aluminum wheels

    Hey guys and gals,

I have a question regarding the wheels on my showcar that I am getting ready for a big show.

I looked through the forum through multiple threads but needed a little more detailed info.

    Background:
Started off with Mother's aluminum polish to remove oxidation and minor scratches.
Followed up with Mother's Billet aluminum polish to bring them to a mirror shine.

Since I am spending about 3 hours per wheel, what would be the best sealant to put on to slow the oxidation process?

I have in my growing arsenal:
    Wolfgang DGPS
    CG Jetseal
    CG maxcoat wheelguard
    Wolfgang Fuzion

Would you suggest any of these products or layering of these products?

Would it be better to try a SIO2 coating? If so, would it be a pain to remove it to re-polish?

I have one Best in Show with this car so I always need it to look its best and wheels are a big part.

And before you ask, yes those are the front rims....

    Thanks
    Greg

If it where me I would go with Polish Angel Supersport Wheel Coating. You get the protection to a show car and it's great looking on powder coated clearcoat and I think it would keep the polished billet wheel shineing great. You can apply a couple of layers with wheels off and the 24 hours before the show wipe them down again. It's the titanium oxide TiO2 that needs fully cure them and get them as glossiest as possible during this time.

    Polish Angel Supersport Wheel Coating

Another way would be to apply a ceramic wheel coating for the longer longevity from it. Then top it up with for the looks with PA Supersport Wheel Coating the day before the car show. Any of the bigger brands as Carpro or Gyeon or Gtechnic makes great ones that also stops the oxidation of the aluminum.

All of the below products leave behind
a protective film on bare metal.

    And:
Since you’ve already completed the polishing
stages, there’s no need to be heavy-handed
with them: just apply/remove them as you
would any Finishing Wax or Finishing Sealant.

    •Collinite No. 850 Metal Wax
    •Meguiar’s Flagship Premium Metal Polish
•Turtle Wax Chrome Polish & Rust Remover

A coating is not going to stop the oxidation from occurring. It will slow it down.

I would recommend Wolfgang's Metal Sealant on bare metal surfaces. It does a very good job.

I’ve used ShineSeal and Wolfgang MetallWerk Concours Metal Sealant. Your wheels will still oxidize but these products will slow down the process and keep your wheels looking better longer. I still polish my wheels each spring and sometimes once more in the fall.

Wanted to say thank you all! Bought the Wolfgang Concours Metal Sealant and all I can say is WOW! Not only does it give a little extra pop, it adds a slickness that is totally insane.
