3M wrap vs. Xpel? Feedback appreciated
I’m trying to help a friend who knows I like cars and asked what I know nothing about. She just got a red Tesla and found a detailer who will apply either 3M or Xpel. She’s also wondering if it’s worth it to coat whatever wrap she chooses.
anyone who can provide me generic information about
- pros and cons of wraps,
- 3M vs Xpel, feedback on either or both
- why people top wraps with coatings
would be very appreciated by this person.
thank you!

Agreed. Xpel Ultimate and yes it doesn't hurt to coat it

Are these wraps generally put on all the paint or just front end?

I have Xpel Ultimate on full front bumper, whole hood, mirror caps and a-pillar. It's 5 years old and I absolutely love it, I tow a lot and for sure would be looking at really bad road rash if not for the film. I have had a variation of CQUK on it since new, I like the coating for the same reasons you'd use it on paint i.e. self cleaning, easier to wash and ease of removing heavy bug death

I put it on what has been judged,
shown, and/or proven to be:
All the vulnerable areas.
(These areas will often vary from one
vehicle model to another vehicle model.)
