Re: New to machine polishing, some questions....
Finally got around to machine polishing my truck. Have spent the last few weeks getting a TON of maintenance stuff done to hopefully help keep this old truck running for a long time. Once I was happy with the mechanical condition of things, I decided to go ahead and try to pretty her up. Using the GG6 with a LC orange cutting pad and Megs UC I got excellent results. WAY better than expected. Was planning on following up with a LC white pad and Megs UP, but things turned out so well with just the aforementioned combination that I didn't feel it was worth the time. With the LC orange pad and UC I corrected all surface scratches and swirls and greatly improved the deeper scratches and dings. The overall condition of the paint was also greatly improved. Couldn't be happier with the results. Also used the LC black pad to apply my LSP (Collinite 845). SUPER easy and I'll never go back to hand applying wax!! The whole process was much easier than I was expecting. I admittedly worked a little quickly, and if anything I'll focus to slowing down next time. But the results were still outstanding. I apologize for no pictures. My phone has been funky lately and I actually have a replacement on the way. Bad timing to not be able to capture the final results.

Re: New to machine polishing, some questions....
It won't be too late to take some pics when you get your upgraded phone.
Myself and i'm sure others would enjoy seeing the results.
Especially the ones that helped guide you along.
It's pretty cool seeing what you can do to a car isn't it.

Re: New to machine polishing, some questions....
Will do on the pictures.
Yes, it was neat to see the results especially for my first time using a DA to polish a vehicle. I'm sure things will only improve as I gain more experience. Although I'm more than happy with the results this time around.
