    Re: Cleaning neglected wheels

I first spray on a tar remover on a dry wheel and let it dwell and then clean rinsing it off with a PW. If I see it reacts on big chunks of tar or rubber or if it's the adisive residue of the brake pads I aggitate it half way through. This is to get the iron particals that can be embedded under these spots off in the next step. I useally use a leafblower to blow off the most of the water and not to dilute the next chemical to much. If I see it has the yellowing on them I use a acid based wheel cleaner. If it's not and only the grayish dirt I use a color changing iron remover or wheel cleaner. If not enough to clean them up it's depending on what it's hard to clean off and do more applications with the chemical cleaner to desolve it. Be carefull and avoid acid based wheel cleaner if the clearcoat and paint is damage down to the aluminum. As it can be make a reaction that is not good for your health if breathing the fumes in from that. So make sure you work in a well ventilationed area.
