    Deep etching in new silverado

Hey all, some fluid landed on the hood of my new silverado and ran back about two feet. It was a few days before I could get to cleaning my truck however what ever the fluid was left an etching about the width of a rain drop landing on the hood and running back. I have tried different pads from lake county to Meguiars micro fiber and many chemicals including Meguiars and pinnacle. I can run my hand over this mark and actually feel it. I hate to thinks about wet sanding however I feel that my be the only technique left. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

I would try a heat source such as a heat gun to heat/cool the surface. More or less try and blend it back together by expansion/contraction. Just don’t cook the paint.

If that does not work out to satisfaction then damp sanding will be the next choice.

Could you try to get a picture of it in close up?

Has it gone in the clearcoat or is it like it's over it?

If it has etched so you feel the it's gone through some of the clearcoat. It's going to be hard to correct. But if it's over the clearcoat it's just about finding how you level it down with either chemicals or mechanical.

Thank you for your input. I think I am going to have to wet sand it.

Thank you for your input. It does seem like it is into the clear coat. I attempted to get a picture however I could not get one where you can tell.
