    polisher/buffer

can you recommend a buffer for me? I have no experience and need a dummy proof one. I don't want to do any damage but want to remove some water spots and would like to be able to buff my car once a year to remove swirl marks etc.

Many of us started out with and still use the Porter Cable 7424XP. Mike Phillips calls it “bubba proof” as it will not overwork the surface of the paint and cause any damage. I still have my Porter Cable and I love it but I have moved on to the Griots GG6.

If your new, go straight to a longthrow, as a novice you'll get better results with 0 experience than with an 8mm..when you're seasoned with the machine, you'll still get better results than a 8mm

Advance Auto is selling the Griots Garage polisher kit for $159 with a 20% off coupon. Price match with AG. They will meet or beat the price. The kit comes with a pad and some polish.
