Best wax remover for plastic trim?

Yeah, it's me. No one hacked my account. Lol

Anyway, I have always just glossed over the Wax remover threads. I am ridiculously careful when I work around the trim on my truck.

One of my buddies is just getting into "real" detailing. I turned him onto AG and the forum, plus I have answered many questions he has had.

Today, he came in and showed me 3-4 pics of where he got some Meg's NXT on his trim. 2-3 small spots, and one BIG 2-foot swipe on his bed rail. I cringed. Lol

So of course, he asked me which Wax remover for plastic was best, and I had to tell him "No idea, I've never used one." Lol

So......... I told him I'd ask the masses on AGO. (After I asked him: "What part of careful did you not understand...."

I'm all ears on this one.

For waxes that were put on much too thick and difficult to remove, I've heard of people reapplying waxes over waxes that have hazed, in order to re-wet them to make wiping them off easier. Possibly, he could reapply the same wax, then follow up with an apc. This might be a great idea, or a really dumb idea. I'm betting there's no in between.

Try a pencil eraser. That will remove the excess wax pretty good. If that doesn't work a wax remover if that doesn't work Solution Finish....WILL!

Solution Finish is a refined graphite and often confused with a dye. Doubt if it will remove wax..pencil eraser might work or Magic Eraser.

I have actually tried like Hell to get residue off the wife's Wrangler trim when it was new (to her).

APC, IPA. Everything I tried "kinda" worked, but it was not a fun thing to do.

Wondering if there is something we can get locally.. I guess not. I think that BF wax remover got good reviews on here.
