Tips on restoring gloss black OEM wheels?
Hello,
Long time subscriber.
I am having a hard time going into nooks and crannies to get a proper pressure.
I have been using a 3" backing plate on a Griot's Garage DA using Menzerna PF2500 in white foam cutting pad, and a 5.5" backing plate with purple foam pad on PF2500 as well.
The sharp crevices are ripping my foam pads apart in a setting speed of 5 and I can barely go into between the spokes without bottoming out the DA.
Any help with technique or pad combination will be great! Thanks!

•From what I can tell from the photos:
-Looks like you’ll need to get an assort-
ment of different sized/shaped wool/felt
“Bobs and Cones”.

Aren't those more for polishing metal Bob?
I would think they might be a tad aggressive.
The Mothers power cones work pretty good.

I went to our local detailing shop called Shine Mate Polishing Pad in Yellow and I bought this and a corded drill and it seems to be working well with Menzerna PF2500.
I also bought a 3" Orange foam pad and seems to flex better than the Grey heavy duty cutting foam pad.

Thanks for the follow-up.
Glad this foam-type of a ‘mandrel-
mounted “thing-a-ma-bob”’ is doing
the trick on your wheels!
