Washing a freshly opti gloss coated car...

    Hey all,

A few weeks ago I had PPF installed on the whole front end of my 2018 Explorer. I did my typical wash routine and put two layers of opti gloss coat on just the newly PPF areas. I also added a coat of opti seal to protect the areas from water while it cures. My question lies within the realm of when I was walking out from work, I found that a bird left me a little gift on my hood. My instincts took over and I grabbed my ONR mixed solution in my trunk and lightly removed the droppings from my hood. My question is would my use of ONR degrade or impair the coating at all? Thanks for any and all information.

Don’t have an answer for you, but I do have a question...

How did the coating withstand the bird poop? Any etching?

Same scenario for me. The day after I applied Gloss Coat topped with OptiSeal to my wife’s Beast I cleaned two bird bombs off of of her paint with left over ONR wash. No issues whatsoever

ONR is a wash. If it stripped a coating, wax or sealant then nobody would use it.

Most coatings say not to wash paint for up to seven days with a detergent. Includes rinseless’s. Thing is you gotta get poop off. If it did affect I assume you’ll see difference in water behavior. At that point just spot buff and re apply.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. ONR shouldn’t instantly remove gloss coat in one small spot when removing a bird bomb.

If anything the OptiSeal you put down took the hit.

Thanks all. Yeah, I was thinking it would be okay. Yesterday we got some crazy rain and the beading was insane! So I’m assuming I’m ok...thanks for all the information.
