And fast forward to this year, 2019 and this thread. That's a 6 year gap in posting. Welcome back!
I don't know anything about the polisher you linked to on Amazon, it's kind of against the forum rules to link to other sites for stuff not sold on the AG store. But I get it, Amazon just like Harbor Freight, they don't have car detailing discussion forums.

Maybe I'll give her mine so I can justify spending more for the two favorites.

Oh Oh...Sorry guys. Guess I forgot that after so long. I've visited AG many times since 2013, just haven't posted because I'v always found answers without having to!

The HF DA is still available. I bought another one about 2 months ago. It has gone through 2 redesigns. At least on the cosmetics. Same machine. I still see them on their monthly sales flyers.

from what i have read, they discontinued it (most likely all chicago electric branded products as well) and are now going to re-release it under the Bauer brand name with a slight price increase (looking at the hf 20% coupon, it specifies in small print at the bottom that brand is excluded from any discounts). in any case.. i would opt for the GG6 because even if you were to only use it a few times a year, you always have that piece of mind. you can get everything here at AG, especially with all the discounts/sales going on which will make it even better...

I like the idea of upgrading your own DA and giving her your old one,,I have a HF DA also and it has become a good go to polisher for light work I want to do and nor grab my rotary or long throw
I mainly use it for minor correction and sealer application but I took that stupid handle off of it and just use it like any other DA
