    Silly question about pads!

I found some new pads today I had stored in an unmarked box.
Probably a couple years old or more.
They are white and orange LC Hybrid still sealed in original pkg.
I was using the orange pad with FG 400 on my Flex and noticed what I thought was dusting.

Long story short is that it was from the pads. Is there a "shelf life” on these pads??
i tried 3 new pads and they all did the same thing.

I washed them in pad cleaner and they seemed to respond to that.

Has anyone had any similar experience??
    Thanks.

How were they stored? I've got really old pads and no issues.

Sometimes foam pads have foam dust on them from the shaping / cutting process.

They are in my work shop. No heat or a/c, but the ones I’ve used in the past are stored in in the same building.
And as I said, they are still on original plastic pkg as shipped from Autogeek

You should have no issues. The dust is probably from old stuff. I would just wash and rinse the pads. I use liquid Dawn in very hot water and then rinse the crud out of my pads. No issues. In you case, you might want to soak the pads for about 15 minutes in HOT liquid Dawn soap. Then scrub and rinse. If real bad repeat the scrubbing and rinsing!

I have a set of original release pads that did this as well.

3401, Orange Hybrid, FG400, = orange pad dust. It will stop after a few uses. Been awhile since I have run this combo. Not sure if it still does it or not.

    Ok. Thanks guys.
I have several orange and white in the package.
I’ll do the Dawn wash on all of them.

They’re too expensive to just toss.
