Tire coating and ceramic on wheels

I’m pulling off the wheels to ceramic the barrel and spokes with CQUK. I also will apply Mckee’s Tire on the rubber while off.

just curious if there’s a right sequence to doing this? I assume because CQUK needs to cure 24h, it should be last to avoid any water or contaminants?

    Was planning to;

    pressure wash entire wheel
    IronX
    McKee rejuvenator on rubber,
    clay bar wheels
    Mckee tire dressing
    CQUK x 2
    then probably Gliss

Clean the tire and wheel first. Then coat both. Doesn’t matter which is coated first.

If you are gonna clay, you should also polish.

I would do the ceramic coating first.

Thanks. Great pint as they’re black wheels. I’ve never polished wheels, but assume just hand application pad? I only have M205 but assume that’s fine with eraser after.

I did that same exercise last summer but used CarPro DLUX on the wheels. Sequence close but suggest you do use Eraser prior to applying the CQUK.

Modify you thoughts and try these
    Ironx
    Clay Bar
    Polish any defects
APC on wheels and tires again

Now coat both sides of the tire (easiest now) with McKees

Set tire up and use the Eraser or good Paint Cleaner of your choice
    Wipe dry
    Apply coatings front and back
    Put wheels onto truck
Let cure at least 1-2 hours but I let mine sit overnight.

I use the Reload every few months on the front of wheels (McKee's Hydro Blue is alternate). Use only car soap on the wheels during wash unless need aggressive cleaners.

Enjoy the coated wheels. Easy to clean and do shed more dust and debris but they will still attract road grime just like the car.

Ya, that will work. You can also get a polishing ball that attaches to the drill, they cost like 20$ and many brands including Mothers make them. ŕ
