Should you polish a new Stainless Steel Muffler ?
I just bought a new Stainless Steel Muffler to give my car a little sporty sound. It's Stainless Steel.
So before I install it, how can I protect it ? Can I put a car sealant and wax on it ? will anything hold up to the high temp of the exhaust muffler ? Thx.

You can use a ceramic coating on it such as CarPro DLUX which seems to survive on the exhaust tips for a lengthy amount of time. Another option is using this Wolfgang MetallWerk? Concours Metal Sealant, aluminum sealant, metal protectant, chrome sealant which also holds up well.
You should not need to polish it since it is new but it won't hurt. Optimum Metal Polish is also pretty good as it has a built in sealant. Wolfgang seems to last a little longer.

So pretty!
I'd probably go with something ceramic due to high heat. Even then, under the car?

I always enjoyed buffing mufflers. I have a lift so it makes things easier. I used the Wolfgang metal polishes.
Treat it like it's the only one in the world.

I would put something on it. Probably doesn't matter much. What I would do is repack the muffler bearings with high temp grease.
