White powdery residue in carpet after extraction?

Ok, so i was detailing a 2011 Silverado recently that another "detailer" had gone over a few weeks prior.

The truck was a disgusting mess, seats and carpet were filthy, and ontop of that were covered with black fabric dye. Talk about a hack job

I pre treated the entire vehicle, gave it a thorough hot water extraction, and i thought all was well.

Then the next day after it had dried up a bit i found it like this. Carpet was caked with a white powdery substance. I suspect it was probably some kind of carpet powder like glade or arm & hammer.

After lots of brushing and a good vacuuming i finally removed all the powder. Has anyone else ever encountered this type of problem? What is the best way to remove the residue?
