Battle of the medium polish technologies! Who's you pic?
I'm interested in a nice medium polish that's gentle yet can fix medium defects while at the same time doing the least amount of damage/paint removal. I've used a few and would like the forums thoughts on my picks and also if you want to throw your pics into the line up.
I've got:
Menzerna 2500 - Diminishing abrasive from a top tier polishing company
FC-717 swirl remover by Mckee's37 - SMAT Super Micro abrasive technology. Originally released as a compound but downgraded to a medium cut polish.
Griots garage - Correction creme, Sub micron diminishing abrasives as far as I know?
All great polishes in their own way, What do you guys think?

Just read this on Mckees product page.
"The abrasives gradually diminish as they work, giving you a built-in finishing polish"
I'm confused, It says on the bottle that it uses SMAT which doesn't diminish. It even says on the bottle that it doesn't diminish.
I also would really like to know if this is more aggressive then a typical medium polish or as aggressive IDK?
They also say on the bottle to only do a 12" by 12" square. Is that what you guys do?

I was just reading about that. I'm definitely interested it sounds like a new technology. I'm not clear on whether or not it's the same company as Menzerna with a different name or what?
But looking through the store I have to say I'm Super super interested in the new Rupes 15 mark3 polisher. I have a G15 that I don't really like. I'm mostly using my Duetto but I have a feeling the Mark3 15 will be a big improvement over the G15 and just what I'm looking for.
If I buy that I'm going to go with the Rupes medium gel polish. It makes sense I have and use all the Rupes pads and Rupes diamond ultrafine is one of my favorite polishes. It's taking all my willpower not to just buy it right now lol

What makes you think the Rupes 15MKIII is a big improvement over the G15? If anything they copied that machine after it improved on what the MKII didn’t have (soft grip, progressive trigger). Unless you plan on also getting the entire Rupes system I think you better off keeping the G15. Much better warranty.

I've heard many people say the rupes 15mm machines are better then griots. Even the old one. Almost every post I've read comparing both says the rupes are just stronger smoother better machines.
Of course I didn't start comparing until after I bought the G15 but whatever.
I know one thing, the rupes couldn't be worse. I dont like the g15.

Yeah, it can be smoother with Rupes pads (especially if you don't do the washer mod). I don't know that I'd call it quieter, it's a different pitch of sound but both are loud enough I'd always wear ear protection. I think the higher cost on the Rupes and the inferior warranty are not worth IMO, for me the G15 works perfectly fine. If you invest the money on the MKIII I hope you're happy with the purchase.

Here’s my way of thinking:
•Benchmark
-A Standard; or point of reference; against
which things may be compared or assessed.
•As many of us can attest to...
-Within many industries there are such
(officially) designated benchmarks.
•However, as far as I know...
-benchmarks (designated as being official)
do not presently exist in/for the world of Detailing.
-Take “medium polishes” as an example.
Basically, IMO, what it boils down to is that
the level of cut can differ from manufacturer
to manufacturer—sometimes leading to where
a “medium polish” could/would actually be called
a (more aggressive) “cutting polish” by some
people within an immediate detailing circle.
•As to the above three polishes you listed:
-Once again, there is currently no (officially)
designated benchmark with which to
compare those particular products.

In my wildest dreams, I could never be as colloquial as Bob.
But, the standard practice is to pick a few polishes in the range of your correction desires, match it with your machine/pads, then do a test spot.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Jescar polishes are not the same formula as Menzerna, they’re better.
