I was asking DBAILY; I saw your dilution ratio, was wondering his as well, since that stuff is "almost" as strong as Drano. 5:1 sounds just about right, considering what it feels like at 1:1.

I used the Zep Purple at no stronger than 1:4 and it did well on the nastiest of tires. However, as mentioned, the fumes are atrocious if you're working in an enclosed space. Based on the recommendations of Richy, a regular contributor here, I switched to Zep 505. It needs to be stronger, diluted only 1:1, but it works as well on tires, IMO, and is a lot safer.

No, I use a Mothers Wheel Brush, I’m actually waiting on a new 1 to arrive in the mail. Lately I’ve been using the Mothers Wheel Well Brush to clean wheels, it works nice because you don’t have to crouch all the way down to brush them. Heck I’ve been using that same brush 1st on the wheel, then a quik scrub of the tire, and finally the wheel well then rinse and move to the next tire.
But the gray brush is only for tire dressing.

Thanks...tried 505, didn't work as well for me, but didn't have it at 1:1.

My tire and wheel well dressing applicator.
Maybe I’ll try rubbing it on concrete with some APC.

On topic, I believe Mike Phillips pointed out, the Ragg Topp brush also works perfect for applying tire dressing. The round design makes sense. A bit pricey, but I will most likely try one during a sale. I just wanted to add, this method is still working great for me. Cleaned my brush once. Like anything, of course replacement brushes would be needed after they have worn out. The current Carrand brush I am using (see in my previous post) is working great. But I will try a Ragg Topp next.
RaggTopp Premium Convertible Top Brush
Duragloss #253 + Fagged tipped brush = PERFECT TIRES.
