Has Anyone Used Aquawax on top of McKee's Paint Coating as a Drying Aid?

Hey Guys,

As the title states, have any of you used Aquawax as a drying aid on a car that has McKee's paint coating? It looks like Aquawax is simmilar to McKee's Trademark Extender Spray Wax and I read that McKee's can be used while drying a coated car. Just wondering if there would be any compatibility issues and I have a full bottle of Aquawax on the shelf.

Haven't used it on Mckees coating but I'm sure it'll be fine. Just be aware that it'll 'cover up' your coating and you'll now have the properties of Aquawax (beading, sheeting, self cleaning, etc.) as opposed to the coating, at least until the Aquawax wears off. I'm not saying that's a bad thing but just something to consider. I've been using Ech2o with a splash of Reload as my drying aid for my car with Mckees coating and I've really been liking it.

Maybe I'll do a side-by-side to see how it looks/reacts to the coating since I have two gray coated vehicles in the garage.

Great question.

Aquawax is a fantastic "wax as you dry" product, one of the best on the market actually. It has a very high "solids" content, meaning there's A LOT of wax in it. By definition, this makes it a QUALITY spray wax instead of a glorified detail spray. McKee's 37 FAST Wax is similar in this regard, meaning it's packed full of "the good stuff."

My goal with Trademark Extender Spray Wax was to develop a product that's the complete opposite of a "high solids" spray wax, something that will NOT build up and can be used as often as you'd like. Why? Because I wash both my vehicles every single weekend, and when I do I like to apply something to my paint. It's therapeutic for me.

Trademark Extender Spray Wax is 100% synthetic and has a very low "solids" content. This would generally describe a detail spray, however the secret sauce in Trademark Extender Spray Wax provides the look, feel, and protection of a real spray wax without any of the drawbacks (ie: wax buildup, streaking in sun on hot panels, etc). This also makes it extremely versatile, meaning it can be applied to paint (obviously), glass, chrome, etc. Applying it on a hot panel in direct sun isn't an issue either. The low "solids" content also means it plays extremely well with paint coatings because there's no "waxy" substance to clog the pores of the coating.

Will you fall in love with Aquawax? Absolutely (I have a gallon at home as a matter of fact). Is it the best choice if you're like me and enjoy applying some type of product after every wash? Not in my experience.

I see no harm no foul.
Yeah, Aquawax is a nice product, and there's of course others in a similar "boat".

Just don't expect them lasting months.

My take is, is if these coatings are supposed to be so darn good, tough, and last, then nothing like such products should do any harm.

Nick, does McKee have the equivalent of Car Pro Reload yet? A sillica sealant to apply on top of coatings? I am running low on Reload and I am considering my options for a replacement. I have seen a comparison video with GTechnic C2V3 and Gyeon Skin and I am not sure what I will get yet. Always been happy with Reload, but it's very expensive.

As for Aquawax, if you have the product already, I would use it until I run out. Then switch to a more appropriate sillica based product to replace it.

Liquid crystal is great but it's not cheap either. The thing I like about it is you can cut it to different solutions. 3/1 for drying
