    Question Door rubber stuck frozen?

    Hi all,

This AM my daughter's Tiguan had all of it's doors frozen (just the rubber seal, fortunately, not the lock mechanisms themselves, which is another story on my other daughter's Jeep Compass).

Anything I can use to avoid this issue? All I have in house is 303, which when I get home tonight, will rub into the seals, but was looking for experience with this regarding anything better?

    TIA...Eric

303 will do the trick. In the future...

Nextzett Rubber Care Stick Gummi Pflege, gummi pflege

And 303 makes their own version...

    Door rubber stuck frozen?

If you have any dielectric grease (sometimes called bulb grease) around you can use that. It is silicone grease and I believe the main ingredient in the Gummi Pflege product.

German door seals seem to suffer this problem more than other cars I've owned.

The Gummi Pfledge already mentioned has been my go-to product for years. If you are in a pinch and can't get your hands on the dielectric grease Mantilgh mentioned, I've also used vasoline.

I've had good luck with spraying Silicone Dry Lube on Paper towel and wiping it onto the seals....

But basically putting anything that repels water on there should help.
