Re: New pressure washer time. Input/thoughts ?
Kränzle KWS700TS
Specifications
PSI: 2400
GPM: 3.3
Electrical Requirements: 220V, 15A, Single Phase
Weight: 175 lbs.
This is one of 220V OG has. The benefit with 220v-240v is the higher psi+gpm you can get with higher voltage.
The biggest one on 220-240v we can get in Sweden is Kränzle K2160 TS. Workload psi is 450-2000psi and 3.0gpm. And it is the portable ones like the K1122 TST looks wise. I don't know if it could come with the electric outlet that fits for you. And the kränzle PW is a buy once. You can get spare parts on everything to it. Sure it's pricey but with a care of it you have a PW for life. And IMO the higher specs you have the budget to get the more use of it you get. You can hold the nozzle tip farther away from the vehical with a more higher specs PW. Then the kränzle PW you can adjust both the psi and the gpm to suit the work you are doing. I would also get one with the lower 1400rpm electric motor on it. That lower the noise level and the wear on the water pump. If you go up to Kärcher Pro PW you have a higher quality and the standard m22 fittings. That could be worth to look into also. I would call either OG or Kränzle USA and talk with them on which PW unit would suit your needs.

Hum... stats for this unit seems very bad for car washing...
You want pressure bellow 2000 PSI so you don't damage the paint, and you want the most flow you can get and 1.2 GPM is pretty much the lowest you can find in a pressure washer.
This unit may be good, but it's not what I would recommend for washing cars.

Re: New pressure washer time. Input/thoughts ?
I already have all the other components, gun, lance, etc. I’m now basically pump shopping.
I notice Matt doesn’t have hot water. Would it not be nice to wash with hot water?
The kranzles I’ve listed are only cold. The AR 630 can do hot water.
I’m really liking the north star 240 washer. Nice flow, good price, BUT it doesn’t appear to have auto start/stop. Too bad cause it’d plug right into my construction heater outlet

Re: New pressure washer time. Input/thoughts ?
I really wish Northstar would do the auto shut off. I have two of them now and both are tanks. I’ve thought about adding the AR630 to have a hot water option.

The standard PW are mostly rated to max 140F. And that is what the kränzle K2160 TS I looked at too. The warmer water makes a big difference in the cleaning ability. Also foam benefits with warm water and prewash products gets more effective too.

Unfortunately I don’t. Can’t afford that much for a pressure washer used only for 2 personal vehicles.

Actually the opposite of this ^^ in my experience(research I did and experience with owning using this PW since beginning of summer). I’ve used +2000 psi PW’s forever. Never damaged paint. These estimates from manufactures never accurate and that’s why I look for higher rating. (kranzel above has 2.4 and seems to work fine). And 1.2 gpm plenty to rinse off a car/truck. More would be better for your bigger flat surfaces (fences, decks, driveway) The OP was looking instant on/off which if I believe right is machine runs when pulling gun and shuts off when not which this does. It also uses a brushless motor which is more durable than the ones with brushes. Just my 2 cents on a more affordable options. If I was spending over $600 I’d buck up and get a kranzel. Last but not least won’t find to many PW’s with 800+ reviews at 4.5 stars from a reputable place.

Auto on off is a nice feature. Would it be hard to add this? MTM Hydro sells pressure switches. Surely if a 200 dollar model from Home Depot can do it, it should be able to be added to a North Star or equivalent ?

I'm not an electrician, but I know the GFCI is 15A, however, the breaker in the box is 20A. Never "tripped" either of them.
And I do run a cannon- I have a couple cheap amazon specials with 1.1mm orfices. They generate sufficient foam for me, albeit, less than a gas pressure washer.
"Hot" water is nice. I live in Michigan where the low last night was actually -20. Even feeding the washer with ~120 degree (hot water heater) water dramatically speeds up the time it takes to wash off snow and salt buildup, and is a nice feature IMO.
I too was between the AR and the kranzle. No experience using the Kranzle, but I'm pleased with the AR.
