    Jeep Rubicon Hard Rock bumpers

    Hey all,
I’m currently working on a 16 Rubicon hard rock, and am hoping someone here may have some input as to what I can use to make the bumpers stay cleaner for my customer. I plan on doing an out of view test spot with Uber ceramic, but I don’t think it’s going to work because of the texture and finish of the metal. Thought about a spray on polymer like p&s bead maker, but again, not sure how that will work either.

If someone here has worked on these, and can shed some light for me, I would greatly appreciate it!

CQ DLUX works great on them. May change the color a hair so do a test spot on a hidden area. It usually adds a nice richness.

It could be powder coat, but I’m not positive. It’s like a grayish black metal with a fine texture. Completely different than the factory rock sliders. They look like a black Bedliner material.

No time to order DLUX. If I can’t get anything I have here to work, I may have him bring it back for the bumpers later

Re: Jeep Rubicon Hard Rock bumpers

    Just wanted to update.
I thoroughly cleaned the bumpers with WG paint prep, and tried an out of sight test spot with WG Uber ceramic. It worked great. Bumpers now have a rich, even black finish again. It took a lot of material, but looks awesome!
