Re: New car!
Wow what a beautiful ride! That Fox Body looks awesome! Is it the 20th Anniversary Model? I believe that was the last model for the Mach 1. The new S550's do not have the Mach 1 yet! Great taste in rides too! I have been a Mustang Fanboy since I was 8. My 1st ride was a 68 Mustang. Dig the color. I hope you are going to match the color with the hood! Either way Keep on Rocking!

Re: New car!
How would they color match the hood without the fenders?

Hey Kamakaz, that's actually a SN95 not a Fox.
I love the 04 Mach I. My neighbor had one, exact color. He did a lot of mods and by the time he was done it was no longer street legal... mainly for track.
That blue will clean up really nicely... I wouldn't worry about the shaker scoop, that will clean up nicely with some solution finish then top it with some DLUX or WETS, or the new Black Fire trim sealer when it comes out.
Congrats... Please let us know when the mods begin!

Re: New car!
SN95 is a slightly modified Fox platform. They didn’t go to the new platform until 2005 with the 5th generation. I’m an owner of a 1999 35th Anniversary Special Edition convertible in Performance Red (ES). Love the Fox Mustangs. I’ve owned a 89 GT, 89 LX 5.0 convertible a 92 LX 5.0 SSP a retired NC Highway Patrol car. I have been thinking about selling the 99 and finding a true “Fox” again. Maybe a SVO....

Getting kinda hard to find, no? And decent ones are bringing a pretty good price.
Had a 1990 LX 5.0; loved polishing those exhaust pipes.

I don’t think that’ll be a problem since they can simply take a look at the car before he takes the hood off.
But more importantly...

What happens if they color match the hood, but then he polishes the paint and finds that it’s so dirty that it literally changes a shade or 2 once it’s cleaned up and no longer matches the freshly painted hood?
I know that’s probably a stupid question, but I’m just thinking out loud.

Being a 4 time mustang owner, the S197’s has an issue with the aluminum hood having a reaction to the steel hood frame. The whole hood has to be repainted.
One of my customers has a 2012 GT in Black. He had the above issue twice. Both times when they painted the hoods they did need to blend into the fenders.
So yes, a consult with the body shop should happen first.
With that said, I ordered prepaintd parts from America Muscle, a GT 500 spoiler and GT 500 chin spoiler and the paint match is perfect. Even my wife cannot tell the difference.
I think once the car is compounded and polished, that should hopefully restore the clear. Again, it all depends.

Are you kidding me? They can look at the car before removing the hood, then take off the hood and take it to the body shop to get painted and it will match the fenders at an acceptable level?
