Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Received (another) order today containing something I have been chasing for quite some time.

Now granted, a version of these are available for you guys in the US for about $25.00, with shipping it would have cost me $125.00. I wanted one, but I didn't want one that much! With a small tweak, it fits over a Gamma Seal lid too.

I wash wheels while seated, scooting from wheel to wheel with my bucket and tools following me as I go. I also use my foam cannon to apply soap to each wheel, now it can come along for the ride rather than being awkwardly carried in my lap.

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Well, it was 95 degrees and humid where I am.

It was the Ranger that got attention today though. With two weeks worth of grass, sticks and leaves through the cabin and tray so it was overdue.................by my standards anyway.

Not before attaching this pressure washer gun mount to my rolling cart.

In the foam cannon today was P&S Pearl. This is a soap that, even with an absurd amount, foams in a more liquid fashion than my usual favorites. As it was coming out of the cannon, I was initially thinking, no, this is not good. Having said that, it still seems to cling to the paint much better than I thought and actually rinses from the car with extreme ease. I was ready to write it off, but the ease of rinsing really won me. It's not a game changer but it does seem have it's own particular attributes.

And yes, the bucket mount works as expected.

    I feel much better now.........

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

So this one might fit more in the non-detailing category but I used about 20 feet of the 50 foot hose from my Vacumaid Garage Vac Pro 50 so my detailing vacuum. Anyway, I bought a cheap paint brush and had some copper electrical wire that I used to create a “brush” with the drill that helped me scrub the pipe. I duct taped it to my vacuum hose and it worked fantastically. The first shot of the brush fit great but I had to hack it up with scissors to allow the lint to get vacuumed through the brush.

This one shows the brush I made with a drill. And also shows how dirty the siding was behind the cover.

And this is the view after I hacked up the brush some so the lint could get through to be vacuumed. And it is now taped to the vacuum hose.

Before, well you can tell the dryer vent pipe desperately needed cleaning.

After. You can actually see a little piece of a 2x4 that I ended up getting with another pass after I took this picture. No clue how that got there.

Gave the Qashqai an ONR wash today, only 28C outside, but the sun was really bright and intense, so I worked inside. It wasn't dirty, just lots dust and greasy fingerprints. Dried using Bowden's After Glow. Didn't touch the wheels or tyres

    Happy Australia Day

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Lucky you @Big Dave with 28 degrees, was a horribly humid 37 here today. I ended up doing two cars today, the Wildtrack and Mustang. I think I used more towels wiping sweat than I did on the cars!

Had some fun trying new products today, CarPro InnerQD and Glass Mitt.

My little foam cannon bucket bracket was exactly what I had envisioned.

After finishing lunch today, I thought the leather on my steering wheel needed some attention, I remembered I had something on hand that would do the job. Meg's Motorcycle Leather Cleaner Conditioner, applied by bare hand, then wipe the excess off with an MF.
