Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

This one isn’t worth it. Got a used very hard car to help move funds around to get rid of other debts. Was a good choice for me as I dot. Care how much the kids abuse this one. It might get a 1 step and some wax/sealant. It was in a fender bender at some point and had a bra put in to hide it. It’s ugly, it’s beat up, scratched, severely etched, had some weird glue like stuff on that paint thinner didn’t touch so i razor bladed it off gently. It serves its purpose as a family Mobil unit. In other news I saw that GM is to discontinue the camaro again since they are in sleepys back pocket and all about this green bullshit. Cant say I’m impressed with anything in this world anymore

After several brutal weeks of winter and dirt & salt buildup, against my better judgement, hit the driveway this afternoon and gave the beast a proper wash. 34 degrees and windy. Not a good idea. Got away with it barley. Water froze slightly on the wheels and lower panels. Sun was out which helped. Got it all dry and called it good.

Maintenance wash time for this Crimson Red Subaru Outback. The exterior wasn't too bad, the interior was caked in pet hair and debris.

I picked up a drill brush last week for this sort of thing, was pleasantly surprised with how effective it was.

I also tried out Bead Maker for the first time. I'm not sure if I like it yet, I need more time to get a feel for it.

This car was recently serviced at the Subaru dealer. This mess was how they deem an acceptable way to lubricate the door hinges.

I don't think they could have done a worse job it they tried. The pics are not as clear as I would have liked, but that white stuff really looks terrible, they even over sprayed it onto the rubber door looms and seals. Sloppy work.

And to my American detailing friends, today was a perfect 80 degrees where I am today.

I'm in America and it was 79 degrees here today with clear blue skies. I even went for a motorcycle ride this morning... Breakfast and about 100 miles. Gotta love Saturday's

I would either prefer the10” of snow or the 79 weather. Just gloomy and rainy up here

After watching your Grand Final, sorry, Super Bowl, I thought I'd make a start on washing the FJ this afternoon. First wash this year, the weather's been either too hot or raining. I only did the wheels today, so I can concentrate on the rest first thing tomorrow before the sun gets too hot. Sprayed on the Bowden's Wheely Clean, agitated, rinsed, then dried. They look a bit bare now. Continued on this morning, 2B wash with Mother's California Gold, dried with Bowden's After Glow. Moved into the garage this afternoon applied a coating of Concours Nova Lustre, the Collinite 845 I applied a while back doesn't seem to bond the single stage white on the roof as well as it did to the silver on the rest of the truck, and the Lustre is fine to go over whatever is left of the Collinite. The Lustre is so easy to apply, you can feel the MF grabbing a little on the spots I missed. I then applied Meg's Quikwax on the trim and the powder coated black wheels. I haven't put anything on the tyres yet, might put some 303 on it later.
