I hear ya. I went down that slop lol.
Heads, cam, intake, exhaust, gears.
4400 stall converter
7200 rpm shift points
Compression ratio 11.5 :1
I would highly recommend a converter.
You will see massive gains with that alone and you would wish you had done it sooner.

Your right, it is a slippery slope, been there, done that

A higher stall on a stock Ls1 will give him big gains

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?
All this GM talk has me missing my Z28:
I was a test pilot for BF Goodrich during the prototype phase of their drag radial tires.
Looks like they hooked on this launch.
Circa 1996’ish.

How so? I mean a little more stall will be nice for launching but too much just doesn't work with a stock cam. Because he mentioned engine work down the road this is why you wait to match the stall with the larger cam.

Keeps your rpms more in the power band and has much better shift extensions. A stock Ls1 peaks at about 5500 rpms.
The stock converter is 1800, at 1800 rpms he is only making around 150 hp. The shift extensions drop to around 3500 rpms after the shift were here would only be making around 200 hp.
Now if he were to add a 4000 stall at 4000 rpms he is making around 275 hp with shift extensions only dropping to around 5000 rpms were he is making close to 300 hp.
So at wot he will be averaging 75+ hp with the 4000 stall compared to a stock converter.
Here are my shift extensions. The rpms never drop below 6300 rpms. (With my current setup)
Even on a stock motor a higher stall is very beneficial.
I went from 13.2@107 to 12.2@111mph with converter and exhaust

Cleaned my Cpap tube and used a Master Blaster to blow out the water. Very slick way to do it.

Super slick and glossy.
My buddy had never heard of such a thing. I saved him a trip to the car wash and he plans on doing it himself with the Turtle Wax 3-in-1 Hybrid Ceramic Detailer spray.
Car looks outstanding! Once your buddy gets the hang of using a RTU WW let him know he can make his own using a variety of products on the market like Mckee's N914

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?
So after a week of rain and thunderstorms that thing called the sun is out this morning, a beautiful thing! Now my car had Frost on it this morning but no worries, start on the tires/wheels/wells. For this I used Brake Buster in the IK foamer and CG wheel cleaner diluted a bit for the wells. All 4 brushes in my bucket we called to serve here, everything was DIRTY Once all 4 brushes did their magic I rinsed down using the Worx Hydroshot, it's been quite a while since I had to use it but now that the outside water has been turned off it's my go to once again. The tires and wheels cleaned up nicely, added a coat of Sonax Rim Shield 2 weeks ago, so it's all good, plus there's a coat of 303 Touchless Sealant under that even.
To wash the car I tried Griots Garage Brillant Shine rinseless wash as a WW. I read in another thread recently where you pour out 18 ounces of water from a gallon and add 18 oz of the Griot's Garage Brillant Shine rinseless wash in there. For this I'm always going to use distilled and I always have a fresh gallon of distilled water on hand. I mixed it up and poured it into my 1000 ML Kwazzer and got after it. I had 5 of DPC's edgeless mf towels and a Griot's Garage PFM for the final buff. I must say this did a great job of cleaning the paint and since the 303 graphene is only 2 weeks old the job was made even easier and my God the gloss... WOW
I used this mix on the door jams and engine bay too, so now its C L E A N I dressed the tires with 303 Tire Balm to finish things off. Later I'm going to vac out the car and swap in my WeatherTech floorliners, yep, it's that time of the year again
