I detailed a Toyota Camry earlier this week. Nothing super exciting but it certainly needed it.

A quick foam with Griots Surface Wash, as the car was just dusty from the week. I used Griots Best of Show Detailer as a drying aid.
Ready for Cars and Coffee tomorrow.

Eldo, what’d you use on the paint and headlights? The before and after pics are quite drastic and that back seat

The paint was Rough... I washed it in the shade, left it wet, then clayed it with a Med. grade Nanomitt using Megs D114 as claylube and it was still a bit rough afterwards.. But since it’s a daily driver that gets treated like somewhat of a beater that was fine.

As far as polishing my main goal was to restore gloss because someone had taken the shop rag approach on the horizontal surfaces so much that the paint was scratched and dull. Meguiars M205 w/Orange Lake Country HD Oribital pad. That’s really it. Topped it off with BeadMaker and it was a quik 1 step.

Headlights on those Camrys are usually a piece of cake. I used Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish w/3” Yellow Lake Country Flat Foam Cutting Pad. Less than a minute spent on each light. Coated them with McKee’s Headlight Coating.

It’s amazing how quick you can run through a car when you know it’s just your friends daily beater. Lol.

Btw that car had the most wicked case of outgasing plastic on the dashboard that I’ve ever encountered... I tried everything that should’ve worked but I couldn’t clean it off. No worries, but damn what a nightmare if it was on a car that mattered.

I remember you posting about using Mother’s Mag & Aluminum Polish for plastics and this is more evidence to try it! That is a huge turnaround.

Today’s forecast....foam, turning into widely scattered gloss. A high quality soap and foam cannon make a big difference. I finished it with Griots 3 in 1 Ceramic. I like it.
