What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I ought to add the Blackfire to my arsenal. Keep up the good work!

My initial plan was to use TW Endura Trim Coating on the cowl...



But the test spot turned out horrible.[if you look closely you might still be able to see the streaking on the cabin filter cover on the left side of the cowl]



I allowed the test spot to dry and went over the entire cowl with the Blackfire and it turned out great.

Long Detail day...

Did a client’s Crosstrek. It only had about 300 miles on it so it was super clean.
Decontamination, wash, polish and ceramic coating, along with sealing the wheels and headlights/taillights.

Looked in the garage and both mine and my husband’s cars were a mess so washed them both as well.

Did you use the same ceramic coating you used on the paint to do the headlights & taillights? Or did you use a dedicated product on them?

No, used something different on the paint.
On the wheels I used McGees Wheel Coating.
On the headlights/taillights I used Wolfgang Plastic Sealant.

Believe it or not I bought it from the original owner. The man loved the car, garage kept and it’s low mileage for being 19yrs. old. But you know how some car lovers somehow keep the outside clean but not necessarily the inside? That’s this car. Lol.

The good thing is he did provide me with lots of maintenance recipients with the work done at the Cadillac dealership, so he did actually care about the car.

Wait a second! Original owner, sold privately with maintenance records!? That’s like a unicorn!

Also a bit late in the thread, but I love the original pics from 20 years ago with your other Cadi!

Today I waterless washed my car and applied a coating. I’m just doing an experiment and having fun with it. I did very minimal prep, going with the mindset of a retail shopper who maybe found a coating at a store and just applied it like some secret new space age wax!

I’ll make a thread about it and edit in this post a link to it.


Ceramic Coating Experiment! Am I just wasting time and money?

I just spent a good amount of time prepping my tires for the TW Endura Tire Coating...



I laid down 2 applications of the coating...



And when I walked to the shelf and set the bottle down, I realized it was a bottle of the Trim Coating not the Tire Coating!

Now I’m going to lay down 2 more layers, this time with the Tire Coating... smh.

It looks ok, but the whole time while I was applying it I noticed it was applying a bit dryer than normL... I figured it was just due to it being near the end of the bottle + I was using a [brand new] different kind of applicator this time. [I used the applicator that comes inside the trim coating box].

Btw I didn’t grab the bottle from that same box that I got the applicator from. [I’m not That stupid]lol.

Both bottles were sitting outside on the table and I made the mistake of grabbing the wrong 1.
