Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?
Gave the Ranger a quick wash this afternoon to remove some wet weather traffic film. The Jaguar likewise while I had the gear out, I mean it would have been rude not too.
I'm now loving Bead Maker as a drying aid. Having used it on a couple of cars now, the Jaguar was the first of my cars to get a coat. On a well protected vehicle, in this case Power Lock, Bead Maker seems to work much better.

Nothing major today, went to Bunnings, our version of Home Depot I think, parked under a tree to have some lunch, so got some bird poo on it. Rained on the way home washed most of it off, just a light soaking with Duragloss Fast Clean & Shine and it all wiped off with no residue or marking left. Happy days.

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?
Today was wheel day; first a wash with ech02 rinseless, then a blow dry. Followed with tires done with black magic foam. Tomorrow I’ll re-wet, then seal the rims with Hydroseal and a hard rinse.
When I got the car a few weeks ago, I did a Dawn wash and then two applications of hydroseal. So the brake dust is just sitting on top of the hydroseal, and comes off as soon as the ech02 hits it, as Martha says, “it’s a good thing“. LOL I’m finding in this environment here in Florida, I’m getting three weeks to a month out of the black magic foam.

We never get the Wagons....
Been a wagon fan ever since 93. A shop I use to work at would get the Option magazine from japan and I’d see all the Accord and Subie wagons supe’d up....

Tell me about it! When it comes time to replace my current Avant, I'm stuck going to an allroad (tall wagon) for something newer as Audi quit bringing the standard wagons over. They did bring the RS6 over as an avant again, but I don't see myself stumbling into that kinda money any time soon (though a guy can dream...).
Having a wagon has been awesome. Fold the seats down, put down a tarp, and I can't remember what my max number was for Sod rolls - even with lowering springs the car worked like a charm. Just recently I've hauled 10' boards for a couple bed projects, and they fit inside with the hatch shut. Who needs a truck?
My recent detailing relateds:
"Detailed" my shop vac - had to use it to vacuum out my water softener brine tank, and I'd been meaning to give it a thorough clean anyway. (Note to first-time-water-softener-owner-self: Clean the brine tank out more than once every 6 years...) Even with a new in-bin filter it smelled like dog every time I'd use it. Wiped it down with Griot's Foaming Surface Prep @10:1, then chased it with ONR. Removed and washed the filter just inside the case, then just blew out the inside of the vacuum/blower unit while it was running. Looks like a new vacuum, and feels like the suction bumped up as well.
Also hit a couple of Dollar coins with Griot's Machine Polish 2 on a deck stain application pad to shine them up for ... the Tooth Fairy. Quick spray of wax after and they looked straight from Fairyland. My daughter just lost her first tooth (and second the next day) - she was super excited.
Why Machine Polish 2? I still have a partial bottle, and despite having a handful of more modern compounds and polishes, I just can't get myself to just pitch the old Machine Polishes I have left. Up next, I'm gonna try Machine Polish 3 on the bathroom vanity downstairs...
