Also, what podcasts do you listen to?
I'm partial to true crime and some science based skepticism.

I leave a friendly note on the gear selector when I send my cars in for attention. It also ends up being noted on the job card.
Podcasts, love them here, is my current list -
Autoline After Hours - I like the inside info on car industry.
Everyday Driver - these guys think like I do about cars.
Below the Bonnet - V8 Supercars drivers David Reynolds and Michael Caruso, quite funny.
CarExpert - general car info and news.
The Autoblog Podcast - again, general car stuff and reviews.
Dialed In Podcast - Started off hating him but quite enjoy his rants now.
The Smoking Tire - I like how casual this one is.
Rusty's Garage - Australian motor sport interviews.
The V8 Sleuth - Again, motor sport interviews.

I'm sensing a theme here. I've added those to my list, 3 - 4 hours a day walking the dogs means I really chew through them.
To keep on subject, I had to clean the front passenger side tyre on the Qashqai, Mum drove it around the corner and managed to scrape it on a gutter, fortunately no wheel damage, but it had so much cement dust on it, it looked like a white wall.

Part of my day job sometimes involves me working alone so I listen to them whilst I work. Great way to keep the mind active.

I get that, you can only listen to your favourite music so many times before you start to hate it, and with podcasts, you can still hear what's going on around you.

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?
I bought this adjustable work platform today. So I can reach the whole roof of my FJ easily. Since I lifted it, I can't reach the middle of the roof without opening both doors, then hanging on with one hand while working with the other. Each leg is independently adjustable between 60 and 90 cm. The 150kg weight capacity helps to, most of the others are 120kg, and I'm just over that.

Ha ha, I knew I forgot one. The host often remarks about his Australian listeners.

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?
Received money from my boss to buy a bunch of materials to do her Mustang. Its artic white and has not been taken care of. Made sure to do it Mike style and set expectation that it wont be "perfect" but she really liked how my Fusion turned out. Told her she would have to start washing her car more than once a year!
