Hey Eldo, have you tried Meguiars Ultimate All Wheel Cleaner? I’m guessing they probably phased out DUB for their new Ultimate product, I used DUB a couple years ago and the few bottles I tried worked well and did last a while. Haven’t tried their Ultimate Wheel cleaner yet, but might be worth a shot since it’s readily available and is going to be cheaper than DUB it seems.
I know your post wasnt directed at me but was just giving my input on it. Sorry.
Ive used it on for its intended purpose and it works pretty well. Turns purple and really if my wheels are mostly clean I just let it dwell for a min and rinse and there clean. If there really dirty i let dwell and then lightly agitate them and rinse and there clean. I could see it working very well for other purposes. And its very readily available which is great.

I used the Eagle one Black and plasti-coat wheel cleaner as an iron remover on my brothers last minute detail.
Worked alright but wished I would have had more than 3 ounces of Iron-X on hand.
Thanks Eldo for the follow up on the trim coating.
I guess OPT coating will be the gig in the future for favors
Black pearl is a wee bit pricey to share.
I love OPT tire coating and the tire needs to be clean before you use it, not 10x's scrubbing the tire clean but clean, like using something like Super Clean aerosol will work just fine. I learned that you really shouldn't top it with itself unless the tire is once again scrubbed down real good. It's ok to top a tire coated with OPT tire coating but don't get Sonax Rim Shield on it though, ask me how I know[emoji47] When using a product like this, spray some tire and rubber cleaner, like 303's for instance immediately afterwards so the chemical doesn't mix with anything you may top with later, trust me I know[emoji50]

Mdjas- don’t be sorry, I know Eldo has used that DUB extensively for a few years now as an iron decon product so wondered if he’s had a chance to use the Ultimate Wheel Cleaner. The more info shared the better, glad you responded! Nice to hear that as a routine maintenance product it can be a spray, dwell and rinse affair. I’ve been meaning to pick it up but I’m pretty stocked up with a few different wheel cleaners right now.
Spazzz-I’ve tried the eagle one product and it worked well as a wheel cleaner, for $5 it did the job but I wasn’t blown away, how was it as a paint decon product?
My brothers '14 Forester is satin white pearl so there was quite a bit of purple happening.
On white the color change is dramatic but even so there was a helluva lot of purple.
But like you said for $5 it did the job, more like 7.99 at Oreillys.
If I would have known a week before we were going to do his car I would have had a 500ml of Iron-X handy for peace of mind.
>> Klasse, I am finding that a trifecta of tire cleaning products( or more ) works the best for me.
My weekly detailing de-stress started with a wash of the Mustang.

This week I gave it another coat of NV Nova Jet and refreshed the tire coating with Gyeon Q2 Tire.

Excuse the rather average after-shot.

I then directed my attention to the XE which had been on road trip duty.
Started on the interior. (I have nightmares about these types of things.)

I then proceeded with a snow foam soak and two bucket wash.

Another coat of Gyeon Q2 Tire and sanity restored for another week. :xyxthumbs:
I have tried a bottle of Meguiars Ultimate All Wheel Cleaner for iron decon on paint.. However the main time I remember using it the vehicle didn’t turn colors. It’s the white Kia here at home, so besides it being white it wasn’t exactly the best test subject since it pretty much lives a contaminant free life.
IIRC it’s sort of a clear gel.. And combined with the fact I didn’t get any color change because the paint didn’t need it sort of left me with a less than thrilling 1st impression of the product.. Maybe I’ll pick up a bottle and give it another go. Thx for the heads up.
