What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Did my first waterless wash ever today. Used my new Griots waterless and finished up with Griots spray wax. Not sure I love the waterless vs. rinseless. You have to use a LOT of waterless to make sure the car and microfiber are lubricated enough. Good for a fast wash I guess, but I think I'll be sticking to rinseless for the most part. I can see using waterless more in the cold months when you just want to get it washed ASAP.

Also humidity sucks in the morning when you're trying to dry your car!

I've never used Griot's Garage Brillant finish RW as a WW before but it's one of the best RW's for sure! That said, if you wanna try a great WW try Mckee's N914 and don't worry, its VERY safe. I usually make it a little stronger anyways, I'd be curious to hear how you like it if you decide to try it. In closing, CarPro Ech2o is the best dual purpose RW/WW product on the market IMO. its extremely concentrated so 7:1-10:1 for WW works best but even at 7:1 you'll probably have to buff to perfection but the benefit is a truely spectacular finish with real protection left behind that works well with coated vehicles, N914 and Griot's Garage Brillant finish are PURE cleaners, also very safe on coated cars

Funny thing happened last night...my daughter’s boyfriend came over and he parked in the middle of the driveway, which he never does! He has a 14-15 (I think) black Mercedes C250 that is full of swirls throughout the car. I've been threatening to wash it since it was so dirty and nasty!!



Given the time he came over, which was around 6:45-7:00, I decided it was time to at least wash the damn thing which led to a partial detail since I didn't have much sunlight left! Well one thing led to another and by 9:15pm I had washed, decontaminated the horizontal surfaces, Blackfire Clay Mitt on the hood, cleaned the wheels and tires with Meguiar's Ultimate Wheel Cleaner and Hot Shine, applied Jay Leno Wax to most of the car except for the Hood and Trunk Lid (its been sitting on the shelf for a looong time and this was a perfect application to get rid of it!)....for the Hood and Trunk Lid...I decided to polish it with Blackfire One Step AIO using my HF DA with LC Orange Pads (4 pads for hood and trunk)! I finally finished at 9:15 and I was quite impressed with the cutting power of BF One Step with a LC Orange Pad!!

Unfortunately I do not have any after pics since it was so dark and I was working with the scangrip light but I did have a few pics of the hood and trunk showing the corrections.

This was impromptu cleaning with zero prep time...it was a mad dash!!

Don't let the picture fool you...lots of dead bugs on the front from the trip and lots of dust. The driveway is at the Derek0606 Compound and we'll be doing a TW Ice snow foam foam pre-wash and 2BM wash pretty soon, along with a P&S Brake Buster tire and wheel cleaning, stay "tuned".

And, for those that were wondering, TWSS makes a pretty good drying aid.
