I guess it was Wheel and Tire week for everyone! I have been running low on my favorite Tire & Rubber (and plastic) cleaner made by my friend Adam in Colorado (but I cannot mention the non-AG brand, sorry). I decided to buy small quantities of everything else I could find and see if I've been hitched to the right train. I tried 5 different products that specifically claim to clean tires. I forgot that P&S BB claims tires so I didn't try that, will next time. Results for me is that my favorite brand remains awesome, Tuf Shine is really great too, 303 T&R cleaner is fine and the funky purple color is fun, 3M Tire & Wheel is a terrible tire cleaner and a really great wheel cleaner, and 3D Yellow Degreaser, marketed as a tire cleaner, is terrible with my tires (had to re-do them with another brand). I tried scrubbing with a brush and also deep cleaning with a drill brush with all of these.

Obviously your results would vary considerably with your own situation so I'm not recommending anything at all, just pointing out my Fun with Chemicals experiment.

Yeah, tell me about it! If you look closely it has a bluish/purple tint, I think they used some of the what makes up their tire "coating" when making this

It’s not really a big deal... That’s how Hyper Dressing looks when you spray it directly onto a tire and leave it to self level. I can understand why the manufacturer said not to touch it and leave it be.. That’s how Hyper Dressing looks it’s best too, which is 1 of the reasons I quit trying to apply it with an applicator a long time ago.

I don’t mix up gallons at a time, but if I mix up something as a waterless wash i just use a gallon of distilled water and keep that around.

Never had any problems with it being less effective or anything. If I presoak before my rinseless I’ll also (usually) mix up 2-4 gallons, and dunk my pump sprayer in to fill it up.

I go around presoaking the whole car if I’m not in the sun, and that’ll usually empty it. I’ll dunk it again to have it full for next time, and I’ve never had that go bad either.

After taking Mike's 2 day training, I have started into detailing my cars. Today, I washed, polished and ceramic coated my 2007 Saturn Sky convertible. Got it looking really good.

Finally used Kenotek to see what the hype is all about! It is pretty darn good. Brought out the metallic flake and added some gloss!

Washed both cars to prep for our roadtrip to Wisconsin tomorrow.

Washed the Wife's Focus first. I did a pre soak with Griots Surface Cleaning Foam and then a two bucket wash with Griots Brilliant Shine car wash. It was still beading from the Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax that I applied over two months ago. Impressive. I quickly applied another layer of Meguiars, dried it off and moved on to the Fusion.
Using the same methods as above, plus using Seal and Shine as a drying aid this time.
Time for some lunch and water. It's already 87° and it's not even noon.
