Sticky/Tacky Steering Wheel, Arm Rest and Door Cards

Looking for some detailing advice! I have a relatively high mileage Subaru and have noticed that the steering wheel, door cards and arm rest all feel sticky/tacky. The door cards on the faux leather parts actually look like they have adhesive that can be removed.

I know that this is most likely from wear, but is there anything that can be done to clean/preserve slightly better or eliminate the stickiness?

    Thanks,

If possible, put up some pics. Tapatalk app is the easiest way I know of.

Without seeing them, I’d say you could try a light cleaner on them like Griots Interior Cleaner if you don’t have anything. Or you could just try a little soap and warm water soaked rag on them and see what happens.

If it starts “pilling” up, then it’s done. I’m not sure if Leatherique would help it.

My WRX has a leather steering wheel and a lot of the leather is gone.

The door cards and arm rest should be vinyl, but I’ve mostly had Impreza and Forresters.

Have you been cleaning them with a degreaser? Degreasers can be too strong on interior objects and they usually will leave a residue behind that is tacky and sticky.

Go to the 17:26 min mark. I found this video from a member on a 370Z forum where they are encountering sticky dashes.

I've used the Meg's natural shine interior protect from the store and it has helped fixed my similar problem on some of my nobs and such
