Claying one day and polish wax a week later

I would like to wash and clay my car one day and then wash, AIO polish and seal the following week. I do not have a garage. Finding a good weather day is difficult for the polish and wax. I guess the main question here is, how long of a gap can I have between the claying and the polish/wax day? Using the Klasse twins. Curing for HGSG is 12 hours(at least) and morning dew is a nightly occurrence so I want to get the polish and sealant on early in the day to allow for the 12 hour curing before the dew forms.

    Hello! Welcome to AGO.

Will you be driving the vehicle for this week?

    I understand your situation.

I don't think a week is unreasonable unless you drive in horrible conditions. Just give it a good wash, and go for it.

    IMO:
Doing another “Baggie Test” after the
car has been washed/dried on the fol-
    lowing week’s anticipated detailing day...
should determine if another Claying session
is needed, or not, before proceeding to the
    Klasse Twins’ steps.

You can save a ton of time when you clay your car by useing a lot of suds from you wash bucket. That being said.... I would do it all in one process.

You could even wait till the 3rd wash to top that AIO depending on the products

So you're saying clay while the shampoo is still on the car and then rinse and dry?

a few things, I don't think rdgrav means that. Although Im just a hobbyist.

    here is what I'd do.
Step 1 wash the car and rinse the car. Get the regular dirt off first before claying
    Step 2 clay
    step 3 rinse
    step 4 dry

Now, to solve your problem here, and get it all done in 1 day without adding too mich work, buy a clay mitt.

i have this one but there are a bunch of others.
Nanoskin AutoScrub Fine Grade Wash Mitt
    like this one
    BLACKFIRE Clay Mitt

It cuts the clay time down significantly. Pretty much I did a good wash on my car, and rinsed everything off. Then went around with my quick detailer spray and the clay mitt and wiped things down. then I did a quick rinse and dry. the clay part took like 15 minutes. So this would only add about 15 minutes to day 2 of your detail.

There are also synthetic clay sponges and pads as other options. after using one of these synthetic materials, I can't see ever going back to "normal" clay.
