    80 microns 2017 Rav4

Paint measured in low 80s around sunroof (in front and behind) with a low of 80 on a 2017 Toyota Rav4, door jams in the 60-70 micron range. Seems pretty low for a new car that hasn't been polished before. Anyone come across a similar situation or is this abnormal for a newer Toyota? Surprised to measure so thin. The rest of the roof and hood was mid 90s to low 100s....

Normal for a lot of Asian import, but most are in the low 90's.

Yup absolutely. I always take PTG readings on every car that will receive paint correction. For newer cars im not concerned about compounding out typical swirls or defects, its the deep scratches or sanding scratches that require wetsanding. I always take notes down of areas that i wetsanded to inform customer about potential future scratches that occur in same area. That way we both are aware of how much we can push to correct out the defect for the second time in a safely manner.

Agree to both! I detailed one a few weeks ago and the whole front was covered with stone chips!
